Crazy, Cheating, and Child Custody: Part 1

As my first post, I decided to share my personal opinions on how to win a child custody fight. While many states have "no fault" divorce statutes...as a father, you and your attorney can still use her cheating to help win custody of your children.

CHEATING AND CRAZY

Cheating is a common symptom of many mental problems, including Narcissistic Disorder, Bipolar, and Borderline Personality Disorder.

In April 2014, Florida State University psychologist James K. McNulty and Laura Widman of Duke’s School of Medicine published a study called: "Sexual Narcissism and Infidelity in Early Marriage." They found that of the narcissists they studied, over half who cheated were women (54%). In December, 2014, Susan Krauss Whitbourne Ph.D., writing  in Psychology Today, said that being a narcissist increases the likelihood of cheating.

The US Food and Drug Administration notes the DSM IV describes sexual indiscretions as a symptom of a manic episode. Manic episodes are often telltale symptoms of bipolar. Louis J. Cozolino, PhD, a professor of psychology at Pepperdine University, believes people with bipolar are at special risk of hypersexuality or sexual addiction.

In short, those suffering from Bipolar are more likely to be cheating.

Kristalyn Salters-Pedneault, PhD states:
"Two of the key features of borderline personality are problems in relationships and problems with impulsive behavior; these symptoms can make cheating an even more emotional experience with severe consequences. People with BPD often have an intense need to feel loved and accepted, along with a lot of ups and downs in their relationships. And, when they are feeling abandoned or rejected, they may engage in impulsive or risky behaviors.

This means that they might do things without considering the consequences of their actions, just to "feel better" in the short term. Certainly, infidelity could fall into this category."

Arnold Lieber, MD states:
"Borderline personality disorder (BPD) is a personality disorder that typically includes the following symptoms: Inappropriate or extreme emotional reactions, Highly impulsive behaviors, A history of unstable relationships

Intense mood swings, impulsive behaviors, and extreme reactions can make it difficult for people with borderline personality disorder to complete schooling, maintain stable jobs and have long-lasting, healthy relationships."

It's clear that cheating is a common symptom of Borderline Personality Disorder.

CRAZY AND CHILD CUSTODY

Well, what's that mean for fathers? These crazy women who cheat could be harming your children. According to a study called: "Children of Mothers with Borderline Personality Disorder: Identifying Parenting Behaviors as Potential Targets for Intervention," Children of mothers with BPD should be considered a high-risk group given the wide array of poor psychosocial outcomes that have been found in these children.

Further, when talking about other studies, it goes on to say that:

"the Children in the Community Study (CIC; e.g., Cohen, 1996) has provided a longitudinal prospective account of parenting, parental psychopathology, and child outcomes, and was one of the first to look at child rearing in parents with Axis II disorders, but not specifically BPD. In ten recent papers using data from late childhood and early adolescence, they have shown that: (1) parental personality disorder is associated with problematic parenting; (2) maladaptive parenting is predictive of later personality disorder symptoms in offspring; and (3) parental personality disorder is associated with symptoms and disorders in offspring"

So if your ex is crazy, she can drive your children crazy too. If your ex's cheating is emotionally harmful to your children...it can cause her to lose custody.

What many people don't know is that many courts allow scholarly articles to be used as reference and evidence in court cases and expert witnesses can be questioned about them.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

If she's cheating, get the court to order her a psyche evaluation from a PhD. with mental health experience and training. Use expert witnesses testimony about cheating as a symptom of many types of crazy. Don't get an expert with a Master's degree, many of them only have sociology degrees, women's studies degrees, or some general degree that doesn't give them the mental health treatment expertise a PhD will have. PhD's carry far more weight when it comes to evidence than a master's' degree therapist.

Also, many master's degree therapists are feminists.

While this will cost a fair amount of money, I strongly encourage it. It may save you tens of thousands of dollars in the long run. If your ex is crazy and cheating, you can use it to win custody of your children.
